Dog and Human competitions. A variety of dog competitions from costume contests, most patriotic pooch, most talented, owner/dog look a like, Lucky Dog Poker Walk etc.
During the event will be a chili dog cook-off, a hot dog eating contest, and raffle drawings.
The Schofield Barracks and Fort Shafter Libraries will be available to discuss their reading to the dog programs.
We will have a Military Dog Demo, Therapy Dog Demo, Heartworm Prevention Education by the Schofield Vet Clinic and much more.
Registration is required for competitions and cost is $5 per dog. Please print registration form from our website www.mwrarmyhawaii.com and bring with you to the event check-in. If you do not plan to enter your dog in the competitions you do not need to register.
This is a first time event, and a first ever dog friendly event on Schofield Barracks. Event will take place on Sills Field.
If you do not have a valid Military ID you must enter through Lyman Gate (off Kunia rd) and have a valid drivers license, insurance and registration. Need directions to the Sills Field? If entering Lyman Gate proceed straight, turn RIGHT at Humphreys Rd, turn LEFT at Kolekole Ave and take your first RIGHT into the Fernandez Hall parking lot.
***All dogs must be on a leash, in a carrier, or stroller at all times. No dogs in heat. Sociable dogs only, we reserve the right to have owners remove aggressive dogs***
