Congrats to our members that will attend the advanced screening of "earth"

Hawaii Pet Magazine is proud to be a Hawaii sponsor for earth, the first film in the Disney nature series! Narrated by James Earl Jones, earth follows the journey of three animal families as they travel our planet. Opening Nationwide Earth Day, April 22, 2009.

Hawaii Pet Magazine gave away passes (each pass admits 2) to the April 8 earth to our members that told us how they are reducing their carbon footprint (and pet's pawprint).

View the "earth" movie trailer.

Congratulations!!! View the member that will be attending the prescreening of earth and read about their "green" habits.

My family and I are actively composting to reduce our footprint. We are trying to get our pet waste compost going as well.

With two humans, six dogs, two cats, and three rescued (and very temporary) foster kittens, we have a lot of foot and paw prints to work on. Two of the best purchases we've ever made were Natumates, Natural Pet Formula Biodegradable Pet Stain and Odor Remover and World's Best Cat Litter (both of course from 55 Pawsh Place). Both products not only work great, but they are safe for our kids and the environment.

We always pick up after our dogs when we go for walks and sometimes even pick up after others who, for whatever reason, are unable to do the same. We keep our kids healthy with regular vet checks and monthly heartworm preventatives.

We are also planning on bring some Earth Doggy Donations into 55 Pawsh Place during the month of April to help the critters who are still waiting for a happy home.

Yay to reducing our carbon footprints! In my case, I became vegetarian when I was young, changed all the lights in our house to energy-saving bulbs, turn off unused lights at home and at work, recycle cans, bottles, and paper at home and work, replaced paper towels with towels in the bathrooms at work, feed and care for my dog and foster dog with only organic products, use eco-friendly dishwashing and laundry detergents, and teach my students about energy conservation and ecological sustainability.

I lower my carbon foot print by unplugging idol or unused electric appliances, once my phone is charged the charger is unplugged, after taking a shower in the morning I shut off the breaker to the water heater, etc.
I also recycle plastic and aluminum.
